Arsenal Football game

One of the guys at Sarah's work had some tickets to an Arsenal game. We snapped them up because tickets are like hens teeth - been here two years and this was the first opportunity!

Unfortunately I gave Sarah a cold so she didnt go, but I finally twisted Stu's arm (its an Arsenal game Stu, why did it take so much effort to convince you!)

Anyway it was an amazing experience - the crowd was really cheesy - they would applaud every pass of the ball just as if it was a golf game applauding every stroke!

Below are some videos:

Shakespeare at Globle Theatre

Globle Theatre

Phil and Stace were in town this week and we went to the Globe Theatre to watch the Shakespearean play Timon of Athens.

Phil and stace took the standing option while Sarah and I took the seated option (I was feeling a little under the weather). Funnily enough they had the better view and more interaction with the cast as they enter and exit via the ground level doors.

They also had people in raven costumes bungy jumping from the net suspended above the crowd - it was amazing to watch!

The season is coming to an end this year so hopefully next year we will be able to see some more!

Start spreading the news! I'm leaving today....

Well, ages ago actually.

We've been to New York and back again since. I've been really slack at blogging.

So New York. Love it.

It was warm and dry (not like England). Eveyone was so friendly! It has an amazing vibe and we would love to live there.

Our hotel was on Central Park, which is amazing. A huge huge park in the middle of the city, makes a peaceful escape.

We walked through it every morning, amazed at the 1000's of people running and walking their dogs... everyone seems to have at least 4 dogs.

We did some sights too, the statue of liberty had a 3 hour queue for the over crowded tour boats, so we walked over to the Staten Island ferry, walked on for free and got a great view of green lady!

The Empire state building was horrid. We were herded like cattle for the best part of 1.5 hours over multiply holding pens over multiple floors. Once we got to the top it was so crowded. To leave we had to be cattle herded again... not in any rush to return.

The food was awesome. The Americans can do steak really really well. Apparently we had the 5th best steak in America - it was truly the best I've had.
Our local breakfast join was also voted the best breakfast in America, which we didn't find out till the last day - but we could tell.

All in all we really enjoyed it. I couldn't get over how friendly the Americans are (well New Yorkers at least!)
