Sarah and I, and our South African friends Charmaine, Warren, Jenny and Leah hired a car and drove to this most beautiful isle.

Well, what else? The lads are are playing Mario Kart...

Tom is trying to look like the Stig - maybe he fears crashing...

Ken is playing Mario Kart while talking on his iPhone... who says men can't multi-task

How we spent our saturday

Endless ikea Ikea. Oh wow. My personal hell. Firstly its in the middle of nowhere. Secondly it is endless showrooms and warehouses. And you have to walk the entire place just so we dont miss anything. The showrooms have the spooky feeling of wondering through a recently deceased distant relative's estate choosing what to inherit. We didnt get stabbed which was a bonus. Apparently when it opened here, the crowds were so feudal that someone actually died.

Dana's leaving party

As the project winds down more and more people are leaving.

Yesterday was Dana's last day at the Guardian. Hes a ThoughtWorks Business Analyst from California with that classic military tuned personality (and physique), and after 9 months on the project he is returning to America to surf the warmer waters.

The party was at Sway in Holborn. It was mostly my work mates but was fantastic because Sarah came too! It was the first time she had meet most of them and where else in the world can someone meet at least 10 new people from at least 10 different countries?

It was also a good test of my new self controlled drinking. Over 5 hours i had a low alcohol apple beer with dinner, 3 bottles of beer, 2 mojitos and very enjoyable mocktail - cherry which i hate, raspberry which i love - so every sip was a tantalizing battle of love and hate on my tongue!

So 6 drinks over 5 hours - not too bad for me. And no hangover this morning! Perfect for facing the hoards of Ikea!

Another fun weekend

We had another great weekend. On saturday night we went to Charmiane's birthday/roller disco! Boy that was fun. It was 80's themed and EVERYONE was in floro pink or yellow (except us)! There were some very oddly dress people but that is london for ya. Next time i'll definately have to wear some short-shorts and an eightys sport singlet!

I wasn't drinking which was a good idea because most people there were and as the might went on the accidents got more spectacular! Another reason not to drink was that i was playing in the Guardian football competition! That was so fun. We played 4 games of 5-aside over 4 hours in the roasting midday sun. Very hot in our yellow long sleeved kit!

Good fun all round.

Yep. Its here.

Just some more proof to convince ourselves that summer is finally here (we need convincing after that april snow storm!) is that after we bog got home from work, Sarah and I played tennis for an hour! And yes, that is tennis outside in the real world, not on the wii!

Is this a sign of summer to come?

This is a usually empty park at lunch. Today, with the sun out and 20¤c, it transforms to festival like crowds! It reminds me how little park space there is compared to the amount of uv deprived londoners!

Our wedding reception was back in march in new zealand. We have started recieving the photos and have started the mammoth task of uploading them.

We would like to thank everyone that came and hope that you had as great a time as we did. It was just the best to see you all. I'd also like to thank our families and parents for all their effort and hard work.

And last of all i'd just like to say how beautiful the bride looks.

Extreme programming can be extremely dangerous! Ken is more valuable to the guardian than me so the insurance company insisted on protection.

football this week.

Football was great fun this week. I really have found a position i like to play - defence. Every one played a lot more aggressively which made for some good tackles and running around. We've also started to pass a bit more and communicate which will be all important in the competition.

The end of a hell day.
