The Christmas tree and us

The Christmas tree and us

This is our first family Christmas! We got a real LIVE Christmas tree - and Sarah and I decorated it.

It was the first time that Sarah had decorated a tree so she was counting on the many years of forced tree decoration labor that I endured over years - Mother knew that would pay of some time!

However she was not impressed with my un-colour co-ordinated decoration choice!! (She was even considering rewrapping other peoples presents so they matched the tree colour scheme!)

Gran Canaria - day 5 - the cave dwellers

Day 5 in Gran Canaria lead us up into the hills. There, we found a unique community of people that lived in caves! They are the real hobbits of our world. They have built there homes into the sides of the canyon! Even the life stock were kept in pens inside the hill! It was incredible!

At the top of the mountain there was a restaurant which tunneled its way into the stone!

Gran Canaria - day 4 - Horse riding

Sarah and Jeremy on horses

Well day 4 on the rock landed us on horses! Sarah has ridden before but it was new enough for me. We went up hills through villages and around highlighting the fact that the island truely is a rock as the photos prove.

It was fun though. Im not to good at controlling horses - still i landed the big boy horse. I was glad whim he ended up being docile and just followed the guides horse.

I can't ride - i ended up gripping the saddle with my thighs and had a sore groin for days and days from my death grip! I also managed a sore butt as well!

Gran Caneria - Day One

Jeremy and the Yellow Submarine
Originally uploaded by jscott1.
Well, we went for a holiday to Gran Caneria, Canary Islands.

The plan was sun and beach - we got both, but not what we expected. The entire Island was a huge volcanic rock in the middle of the ocean - thats about it. We there was the tacky 70's feeling resort filled with 80 year old germans sun bathing naked. uucck.

Anyway, on the first day there we went to a quaint little fishing village Puerto de Morgan - where we went on a yellow submarine that toured us around sunken ship wrecks - click the photo for more photos.
