Farewell from e2

Well ya really can tell they are your mates when they blind fold ya on an office chair, feed ya strange drinks, spin ya, then proceed to bubble wrap ya!!!!!

Well, thats what ya get for becoming indespesible I guess !! (aint that right guys)!

Shan you are a sneaky bugger, "Oh Jerms, lets go play a drinking game - here you sit here and we'll blind fold ya and every drink some you take someone will say something nice about you... its a 'bonding' thing"!!!! Ha look at Gary behind me getting ready to "bond"

I didn't go down without a fight though - It only took 4 of them to take me down! (I think... I was blind folded!)

Next it was outside into the city mall where two nice gals gave me a kiss each and some big dude tried to tip me over - thanks Gary, you got my back - I appreicated that!!

Bloody good nite with the sing star, Carl giving a speach and I think that he said i was a "Good guy... now" - thats a compliment right????

Oh, thanks Shan and Nic for the Sour Cheery Vodka - real good!!!

More Government Departments

Just to add to the drama of the delayed official documents - my drivers license is being with-held!!!

I filled out the form online, paid, then sat my test. I was told to be there 30 minutes early for formalities but the tester man was 10 minutes late - so I had been waiting for 40 minutes - this was a morning test and the centre wasn't yet open.

So I passed the test, got a temporary license (proper one in 5-10 days)and sent on my merry way.

Two weeks later no license. They are withholding it because before my test I was meant to have filled out a form, had a photo taken, eyes tested etc etc.

Anyway got that sorted. Was a little nervous cause they wanted some id - after my test they took my old license, and where's my passport??? - Wellington. They accepted the temporary license so ok.

license in 5 - 10 days.

Bloody Consolate

So... 6 weeks ago I sent to Wellington my passport and all the malaki that is required to get a working permit for the UK.

So... 22 days before I leave the country the British Consolate sends my passport back - without a VISA. My passport is faulty!

The plastic that covers the photo was pealing back and you could almost tamper with the photo! Fair enough. No customs official would have accepted it. Lesson 1 - always check the condition of your passport before traveling!

BUT SIX WEEKS TO FIGURE THAT OUT! That is ridiculous!

The people at the New Zealand Internal Affairs were really nice people and were more than happy to hold my hand and walk me through every thing. $300 later.

So, my NEW passport is being urgently processed. After that I need to send it back to Wellington and HOPEFULLY (fingers and toes crossed - not to mention a few prayers of desperation) they will issue me a work permit.

I will be in Wellington by the time they are finished - I will let them know that I want to pick it up. I bet that my passport will end up back at home, in Christchurch.

We'll see
