Brussels!
| From Brussels |
The winter markets in Brussels were really beautiful. They had put so much effort into the lights and the atmosphere.Sarah and I went to Brussels with 4 South Africans - one of which, Charmaine, was Sarah's flatmate. It was really fun being with a group of people that were relaxed and just wanted to have a good time.
We took the Eurostar from London - only a few hours. It was awesome to see how close to central Europe we are! We stayed at the Sheraton hotel - only 5 start hotels for us now... (now that we can get a really cheap package deal from lastminute.com that is!)

The food was really nice, Brussels is famous for sea food, chocolate, and of course BEER! Brad and I sampled as many as we could in the hotel bar while the girls took forever to get ready! Had a 9.5% Hogarden beer - mmmm. And, famous in the region - a lambic beer. Very fruity.
There was chocolate EVERY WHERE! So many different sorts of chocolaty goodness! Sarah was in heaven - she denies it though.
The first night we were there, there was a light show in the center square. It was so romantic, snow falling, lights, christmas tree, music, and a nativity stable complete with real sheep!
The next night we went to some more markets and went on a very high ferris wheel, with seats that can be spun! Oh what fun!
