Wellington - a city of Forests

Wellington suprised me with how much forest there is! It seems that there is more forest than there is city! I guess it appears like this because all of the houses are build on the side of a (very steep) hill that is naturally covered in forest.

Yesterday I went on a walk into the forest about 2 minutes walk from Phil and Stace's place. It was so peaceful and quite, with bird singing - a haven in the city. It was a good opportunity to test my new toys - a bloody cheap, bloody awesome digital camera and a tripod that I bought from Kathmandu for $20 - what a bargin. Anyway check out the waterfall - taked with a longer exposure as to get the smooth movements of the water - wow - smart camera.

Later in the day I had lunch with my step niece, Zoe - uncle will be fine Zoe. I spilt my coffee (actually the tripod leg did but im taking responsibility for it). We also went to a GREAT film festival movie set in the shanty towns of Africa - Tsotsi was the name. Highy recommended.
